Who Governs AI? A Research Agenda for AI Constitutionalism
Abstract: One of the author's of Claude's Constitution argued that it may be the most consequential document of all time. They pointed out that billions of Claude users as well as the users of models distilled from Claude will be shaped by the values and hard constraints imposed by that document. This possibility warrants increased attention to constitutions, model specs, and codes of conduct by civil society, academics, and regulators. This presentation outlines a possible research agenda for those keen to get involved.
